The International Symposium on Human Behaviour in Fires 2026 brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to present state-of-the-art research on human responses to fire emergencies in built environments, transportation, and outdoor scenarios.

View on Google Maps 6th October 2026 A specialized workshop on accessibility to evacuation means for everyone, with priority given to PhD students. 7th-8th October 2026 Two days of presentations featuring the latest advancements in human behaviour in fires, including keynote speakers and poster sessions. Selected papers will be invited for publication in a special issue in the Fire and Materials journal. The symposium welcomes all submissions related to human behaviour in fires, of note: Campus Helsingborg, Lund University is conveniently located near Helsingborg Central Station in the historic coastal city of Helsingborg, Sweden. Jointly arranged by Lund University (Sweden) and University of Canterbury (New Zealand) in partnership with the municipality of Helsingborg.Key Dates
